Data Cleaning for the Telegraph

Posted by: admin Category: Smartmessages

With newspaper circulation declining year-on-year, The Telegraph Media Group realised they needed to know as much as possible about their client base. That's when we got a call...

So that The Telegraph Media Group could capture information about their enormous audience to enable them to build a profile of their readers for whom they had email permission, they intiated an email campaign linked to a survey, which Synchromedia built and hosted usng Smartmessages. So far we've implemented two campaigns across 2.2 million recipients; we've seen excellent response rates, and gathered some very interesting stats.

This data is then mapped geographically to raise awareness of the relationships between sales and outlets, thus allowing costs of data purchasing to be dramatically reduced when reader prospecting.

We have been working hard on creating a clean, smooth working process with the Telegraph, which is now paying dividends as set up times are reduced and changes can be made quickly.

Throughout this exercise, our new server cluster has delivered excellent performance, and the scalability of our cluster design means we can easily add more servers to speed up the service and increase reliability with no downtime.
